Jammu, Jan 21 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested three officials of Rural Development Department (RDD) in Rajouri district in connection with the theft of official records and files from the Block Development Office (BDO) in Darhal Tehsil.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the incident of theft took place in the intervening night of January 15-16 and in the morning hours of January 16, a complaint was lodged in Police Station Darhal following which an investigation into the matter was started.
“During investigation, some vital clues got developed and Junior Engineer of Rural Engineering wing of Rural Development Department, Village Level Worker and Accounts Assistant have been arrested and some files stolen from the BDO office have been recovered,” officials said.
“The three officials have been arrested for theft in their own office,” they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Chandan Kohli confirmed the development and said that three officials of RDD have been arrested in the case and further investigation is going on—(KNO)
